Come and say hi

We’d love to catch up with you at IDSS

Paul Driessen
Principal

Paul leads our Injury Schemes practice and will be a familiar face to many who’ve experienced his special brand of calm, considered client engagement – including a genuine interest to truly listen and help solve the problems at hand. If you’ve worked with him, you’ll know he’s also into bands – if he’s not playing in his own band, Cosplay, you’ll likely catch him at a gig or two around town.

Alan Greenfield
Principal

As a Taylor Fry co-founder, Alan played a key role in establishing our actuarial business and continues to lead the growth of our team. He’s Scheme Actuary to the NZ Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), and has worked closely with the ACC board and senior management since 2016. Despite being a keen traveller, it’s Alan’s first time in Tasmania, so he’s excited to see what the city has to offer – including a visit to the MONA.

Richard Brookes
Principal

Richard will be another familiar face to many, having worked with some of the biggest schemes in Australia and New Zealand, including SIRA in NSW and the ACC in NZ. He’s looking forward to re-connecting with old colleagues and putting faces to the names of the new contacts he’s made in recent years.

Ash Evans
Principal

As convenor of the IDSS 2023, Ash will be zipping about the venue ensuring everything runs smoothly. If you manage to bump into him, he’s always up for a chat, especially if you ask him about his dog, Bowser. Otherwise, you could find him at his presentation with Richard on Monday, speaking about mental health and worker vulnerability.

Jon Cohen
Principal

How can you best manage AI risks?  What’s next with Chat GPT? How can you effectively use analytics to manage the claims process? If you’re wondering about these questions, then come seek out Jon, who enjoys a good conversation about these and other topics related to the latest in advanced analytics.

Peter Mulquiney
Principal

Many would know Peter as the Scheme Actuary to the Queensland Motor Accident Insurance Commission. But when he’s not busy leading complex analytics projects for his clients, he takes to the outdoors – and in no small measure – as an avid skier and rock climber. He’s also looking to find the best place to eat in Hobart, so hit him up with your recommendations.

Scott Duncan
Principal

From schemes such as QBCC and WorkSafe to major insurers like QBE and Allianz, Scott has worked with them all. He’s excited about catching up face to face with his contacts and will happily talk about his recent project for the WorkSafe Steering Committee, where he costed proposed benefit changes to improve the scheme’s financial sustainability. He’s also a new father, so that’s a good opener as well!

Danielle Ling
Director

Danielle has extensive experience guiding state regulators to manage their workers compensation, catastrophic injury and CTP funds. She’s formed strong relationships with all her clients, who value her technical expertise and ability to truly listen to their needs. She’s looking forward to seeing former colleagues again and meeting new contacts.

Tom Moulder
Director

Tom’s expertise spans actuarial and analytics projects – from building and validating large, multi-source datasets to predictive modelling and communicating insights. Among his clients are Comcare and SA CTP in Australia, and ACC in New Zealand. At IDSS, Tom hopes to meet people from different schemes, hear about the latest updates and bring back these insights to support his clients.

Snigdha Prasad
Manager

Snigdha has worked with multiple injury schemes, health providers and major insurers.  She actively engages with the actuarial student community, encouraging the next generation of brilliant minds, and is looking forward to hearing updates from each scheme to understand the different issues they’re facing.
