Alan Greenfield Taylor Fry

Alan co-founded Taylor Fry in 1999, helping to establish the actuarial business and, later, our expansion into analytics. He now leads Taylor Fry’s climate and sustainability practice, working with clients to identify, measure and monitor their exposure to climate risk.

Alan also leads major projects for government in Australia and New Zealand, frequently partnering with social policy consultancy Inside Policy on data, analytics and policy projects dedicated to First Nations Peoples. He says:

“Social problems are dynamic, multifaceted and often hard to articulate, involving numerous stakeholders and interconnected parts. Communicating without jargon or technical complexity ensures issues can be understood and confidently addressed.”

In 2015, Alan was awarded Actuary of the Year by the Actuaries Institute for his contribution in developing the investment approach to public policy making. He is an active member of the Actuaries Institute Climate & Sustainability Practice Committee, which supports actuaries focused on climate risk to share their knowledge and contribute meaningfully to public policy discussions on critical issues.

Before co-founding Taylor Fry, Alan consulted in Sydney, London, Chicago and New York.

Alan’s Qualifications
  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia
