Tim provides actuarial advice to APRA-licensed general insurers and corporate self-insurers, having started his career in 2012 at Taylor Fry.
He has extensive experience providing reserving, pricing and capital management services to general insurance and reinsurance clients, and is the Appointed Actuary to a reinsurer.
Tim specialises in the setting of economic assumptions, and has been involved with several working groups assisting the Actuaries Institute in determining the profession’s stance on these. He is also responsible for Taylor Fry’s economic assumption framework and its further development. He says:
The actuarial profession is known for its honesty and trustworthiness. Being direct and precise in justifying our assumptions is key to upholding this reputation.
As a member of the Young Actuaries Advisory Board, Tim advocates for the next generation through mentoring, by encouraging young actuaries to play an active role and engage with the Actuaries Institute.
